TipBotBETA
For token issuers

Let your community tip your token.

Issue some of your token's supply on Xahau, and anyone on X can tip it with a single post. Get a TipBot shortcut and it's as simple as @xahtipbot +5 YOURTOKEN.

Why put your token on TipBot

Tipping happens in public

Every tip is a post on X with your token's name in it, in front of everyone reading the thread.

No wallet needed to receive

Tips are held against people's X accounts, so anyone can receive your token before they've ever set up a wallet.

Rewards in one line

Thank contributors, reward great posts or run giveaways straight from a reply: @xahtipbot +10 YOURTOKEN.

Runs on the ledger

Balances live in the TipBot hook on Xahau and are moved by independent oracle nodes. Holders cash out to their own wallet whenever they like.

How it works for your token

  1. 1

    Issue your token on Xahau

TipBot runs on Xahau, so the token it moves is the one issued there: create an issuer account on Xahau and issue your token (all of it, or some of your supply). Holders need a trustline to your issuer, as with any issued token.

  2. 2

It already works, with the issuer

There's nothing to sign up for. As soon as your token is on Xahau, holders can add it to their TipBot balance from the dashboard and tip it by naming the code and your issuer address:

    @alice @xahtipbot +5 YOURTOKEN:rYourIssuerAddress

  3. 3

Get a shortcut, so the issuer isn't needed

Long addresses put people off. With a shortcut, +5 YOURTOKEN is enough: every oracle fills in your issuer. Shortcuts are listed in the TipBot-Shortcuts repository, and you get one with a pull request, below.

  4. 4

    Tell your community

Once it's merged, post about it on X and show people the one-liner. Tag @xahtipbot so we can share it too.

Getting a shortcut: the pull requestInteractive

Add one entry for your token to shortcuts.json in RichardAH/TipBot-Shortcuts and open a pull request:

{ "ticker": "YOURTOKEN", "issuer": "rYourIssuerAddress", "name": "Your Project", "from": "2026-12-01T00:00:00Z" }

  • ticker: your token's currency code on Xahau, 3 to 20 letters and digits starting with a letter (not XAH). Capitals don't matter when people type it.
  • issuer: your issuer's r-address on Xahau mainnet.
  • name: optional, for people reading the list.
  • from: when the shortcut starts, in UTC. Set it at least an hour after you open the pull request, so every oracle switches at the same moment.

Before you open the pull request

  • Verify the issuer on Xahau mainnet. A wrong address with a valid checksum passes every check.
  • Check that the ticker is your token's real code. A 3-character ticker is matched as a standard currency code. A longer one is matched as its capital letters, written from the first byte of the code and padded with zeros (the way RLUSD is issued). If your token's code is stored any other way, the shortcut won't match it.
  • Add your entry; don't edit others. Existing entries stay as they are, so older posts keep resolving the way they did. Only change the list itself, not the rest of the file.
  • Validate the file. From a checkout of tipbot-oracle-node, run node ton.js --check-shortcuts shortcuts.json. It's the same check every oracle runs, and a file that fails it is rejected whole, with the previous list kept.

  • EVR (Evernode): rEvernodee8dJLaFsujS6q1EiXvZYmHXr8

  • XRP (XRP): rhub8VRN55s94qWKDv6jmDy1pUykJzF3wq

This is the list every oracle is using. A change merged into TipBot-Shortcuts shows up here once the oracles have picked it up and it has passed their checks.

Questions issuers ask

Does it cost anything?

No. There's no listing fee and no sign-up: the shortcut is a pull request, and tipping itself works for any Xahau token without one.

Can someone else claim our ticker?

Anyone can issue a token with any code, which is why a shortcut is only a default. Typing an issuer always wins, so +5 YOURTOKEN:rTheirIssuer still sends exactly the token named. Each shortcut points at one issuer, and the list is reviewed before anything is merged.

What if our issuer changes?

Add a new entry for the same ticker with the new issuer and a later from. To retire a shortcut, add an entry with "issuer": null. Old entries stay, so posts from before the change still resolve the way they did.

How do we try it before telling everyone?

Paste a sample post into the playground on How to tip. It uses the same rules and shortcut list as the oracles.
